Accessibility at the Louvre
The Louvre Museum is fully committed to accessibility and welcomes all visitors regardless of ability. The museum has made significant investments to ensure a comfortable and enriching experience for everyone.
Wheelchair access: The Louvre is wheelchair accessible. The main Pyramid entrance has an elevator, and the Carrousel du Louvre entrance (99 Rue de Rivoli) provides step-free access. Elevators are available throughout all three wings to reach every floor. Most galleries are accessible, though some smaller rooms may have limited access.
Wheelchair loans: Free wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the information desk under the Pyramid. Folding chairs (sièges pliants) for seated rest are also available for loan.
Tactile gallery (Galerie Tactile): The Louvre has a dedicated tactile gallery where visually impaired visitors can touch reproductions of famous sculptures. This gallery is in the Denon Wing and is open to all visitors.
Sign language tours: The museum offers guided tours in French Sign Language (LSF) on specific dates. Check the official website for the current schedule.
Priority access: Visitors with disabilities and one companion receive free entry and priority access. Present a valid disability card at the entrance. You do not need to book in advance — go directly to the priority access lane.
